Eversendai wins RM196 mil contracts in the Middle East

By Sharen Kaur

Eversendai Corp Bhd has done it again, bagging three new projects with a combined value of RM196 million in Abu Dhabi and Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), amid global market uncertainties.
In a filing with the exchange today (April 8), Eversendai said the three new projects brings its total contract wins to RM602 million to-date for the year 2019, lifting its order book to about RM2.52 billion.
In January, Eversendai announced that it secured three contracts worth RM406 million to undertake structural projects in Singapore, India and Qatar.

2018 was also a busy year for Eversendai, where it launched the sea-trials for Aryan,  the company's first fully constructed self-propelled lift boat (FILE PIC)

Executive chairman and group managing director Tan Sri A K Nathan said that the group's core business tender book stands at RM10 billion and he is confident to win more work progressively.
The newly acquired job in Abu Dhabi involves a museum project. Eversendai was also awarded structural steel works for two high-rise building projects in Qatar.
"I believe we are well-positioned to overcome any obstacles and stay on course to achieve our business goals," he said.
According to Nathan, Eversendai is continuously looking at delving into new opportunities in inter-related industries whilst maintaining its commendable performance and track record.
"Our business philosophy is to not depend on a single market or client.  We remain optimistic in the regions where we operate with many new opportunities in the pipeline. With our established business clientele and market, we are confident to maintain sustainable growth”,  Nathan said.
“Regardless of how the overall global market behaves, the construction sector will keep growing according to its economic development of respective countries," he concluded.
