Prime land in Bangsar, not for development

By Naveen Sachdev

If you tell developers there is a piece of vacant prime land in Kuala Lumpur, the next thing you know is that they will be rushing to buy it.

Whether 2 or 3 acres, they will grab it and try to maximise the land use by building high-rise residential and commercial space and the views of existing buildings in the area will be blocked. Do developers care when that happens? Developers will do whatever necessary, or possible, to get their hands on land that is ripe for development and make profits for the company. After all, a project in a prime area sells better than one which is located far away from the city.

In Bangsar land is scarce but you will be surprise to know that there is a plot of land somewhere close to TMC which is more than five acres, and the good news is that no matter what developers try to do they will not be able to develop it as nearby there are high tension wires. This particular piece of prime land is being used currently for farming and to keep animals. Basically the area has been transformed to bring the community together and for people to come around and mingle, feed the animals and do some planting. No developments whatsoever!
